About Us

Our U3A is a welcoming environment that aims to provide learning opportunities and social interaction for retired and semi-retired members of the community.

There is a wide range of classes and activities on offer and presenters are drawn from both outside and within the member group.

Opportunities exist to share one’s knowledge, interests, skills, and experience with each other, in an environment of mutual cooperation and social equality.

Being a self-help organisation, people are encouraged to also take part in teaching, administration, planning, and other support roles.

U3A is a worldwide organisation that was founded in France in 1972. The first Australian U3A was formed in Melbourne in 1984.

U3A Deepdene opened in 2010 under the auspices of the Deepdene Uniting Church and currently has 1100+ members.
